GP4: Formula E 2022/23 Season 9 Liveries

OK.

I relented.

I know I said I wouldn't do it, but I have.

I have created all the remaining liveries for the 9th Season of Formula E. Sorry that there hasn't been much progress on the 2023 F1 scene of late, but this mini project has taken up that time. Sometimes when you're motivated, you've just got to go for it. All the liveries are made by me from scratch using the template that I've made freely available.

You can now enjoy the full grid, with every team from the 2022-23 season included in this pack. I've also reworked some of the previous released liveries, so please update them if you had previously downloaded them. After working on modern F1 liveries that predominantly use a matte paint these days, it's nice to go back and have a variety of liveries that are more reflective.

Thankfully many of the liveries are quite simple and straight forward to create, the ABT Cupra had some interesting lines and dashes, the Porsche has many gradients and the Jaguar has a mirrored livery for the second car. I quite enjoyed creating the NIO livery, this is the final season they enter under that name as they will become the ERT Formula E team in Season 10.

Are there city tracks in GP4?

Whilst Formula E cars share the Monaco GP track (in full in recent years), and race on parts of the Hermanos Rodriguez track in Mexico City, there's not many crossover tracks available. The Valencia Ricardo Tormo, albeit on a slightly different layout, is regularly used for testing and has been available in GP4 for some time thanks to Jimbob. They did also use Long Beach in a slightly different configuration to the ones created for GP4, 1975 Long Beach by b-tone or the 1981 version by Pedro27 or the Indycar layout by Nixblicker.

Formula E will visit the Shanghai Circuit in China for Season 10, although it is not confirmed which layout they will use, although rumours persist it will be the shorter version which is already created by F1Virtual. It's also been announced recently that Formula E will visit Misano for two rounds, of which an excellent version has been made for GP4 by drt01.

There are quite a few nice city tracks created for GP4 over the years. 1982 Detroit City by Jimbob, 1984 Dallas by Landex and Phoenix from 1991 trackpack are also viable street circuit options although they have more of a period feel. The 2008 Valencia Street Circuit used for a few years in F1 is a more modern option. Modern F1 street tracks are probably a bit long and fast for Formula E.

The Norisring created for the DTM mods is a fantastic option, great fun. There's also Adelaide short, originally converted by jimbob and pimped up by F1Virtual, and Surfers Paradise is also a great fit for a fast flowing city track. Jimbob has also converted the Vancouver track, a tight city track, and Macau originally by Atticus looks great with the 3D added by Viking75.

Circuit de la Muralla is an excellent track by txema and jimbob1 and has a great city feel, I can't recommend this track enough.

Tumyeto created a fictitious Miami track, has a great feel of racing around the docklands.

Shortwood park, a TRD2 conversion by Jimbob is another great city track, and Hasbraile has done a night version too.

Urbano Circuito Ficitio by txema is a longer urban track that also creates a great city feel as do Pau by Addie Walti and Santa Fe by Maxi82.

Other city tracks include Cagliari by 32bobo32, Lisbon by Rui Tapadinhas, Miseluk in Serbia by miki2000milos, Castellana, Madrid by ladmvdlav, Manhattan Night by Viking75, Chicago Street Circuit (NASCAR track) and Nice (based on Croft in the UK) by Viking75.

Chateau Carreras by Meteoro405 and Maxi is a stadium based track.

As you can see, there's a wealth of options there to compile a set of tracks to race these cars around. This is not an exhaustive list and you can have fun on other types of circuits with these cars too.
