Background
The 1982 season saw Keke Rosberg win his only World Championship title with the Williams team, in a close season that only saw him on the top of the podium once. The season was unique, as no driver took more than two races, and Keke won through consistency, despite using a normally aspirated engine against turbo powered competitors. The Ford Cosworth DFV that has powered so many cars from Team Lotus in 1968, to supplying most of the grid in the 70's, won its final championship in the back of this Williams. That's 14 Drivers World Championships and 10 Constructors Championship.
The FW08 was based on the successful FW07. The FW08 would be modified for the 1983 season due to introduction of flat floors.
Keke has gone on to manage other drives as Mika Hakkinen and son Nico Rosberg.

The World Champions Collection is updated with a front wing, different front rims and a slight change to the decals. For me, Minichamps haven't done quite enough updating of it to earn an extra mark from me.

This model is based upon the Swiss GP. All the usual quality as you'd expect from a well made kit,

FW08B 6-Wheeler (Minichamps)

There have been a few 6 wheeler cars over the years, but only one raced, the Tyrrell P34 in 1976. Rules were changed to restrict F1 cars to 4 wheels when this car was tested and broke lap records. This model comes in a significantly larger box, but it's a lovely model, a nice touch that Minichamps have gone back to make this one.
